Speed - Strength
Definition: how well you apply force with speed.
Also referred to as "Power" by we Americans. There are two types of Speed - Strength:
- (1) Starting Strength
- (2) Explosive Strength.
The stimulation of fast - twitch muscle fibers is what makes Speed - Strength so important.
Examples are Olympic Lifting (clean & jerk, snatch), hihg jump, shot put, powerlifting, pitching.
